Quantitative genetics: principles and applications of association mapping

Up to now we've covered what might be called "classical" quantitative genetics. Now we're going to combine quantitative genetics with genomics to gain even greater insight into the genetics of quantitative traits. Unlike everything we've done so far we're going to have actual genotypes to work with. The trick is that the loci we've scored, typically SNPs, may not be the actual cause of variation in the trait. They just happen to be closely linked.
