Statistical phylogeography: Migrate, IMa, and ABC
I will not in lecture today. You'll find a link to a video recording discussing today's topics below. Today you'll begin to see more concretely than you have before how nucleotide sequence data can be used to make inferences about evolutionary history and migration rates. You'll also see that doing so gets pretty complex pretty quickly. You'll see only a tiny amount of the math behind everything that's going on, but what you see will probably be more than enough. Finally you'll see that although there's a lot you can do with nucleotide sequence data, doing it can become very computationally challenging.
