On my way to New Zealand

If I've got my time zone calculations right, when this post appears a little after noon on Sunday, I'll be standing in a customs line at the international airport in Auckland. I'm visiting as part of the Summer Institute in Statistical Genetics. Bruce Weir and I will be presenting module 1, population genetic data analysis, on the 9th and 10th.

Of course, there's no point in traveling that far and returning immediately, so my partner and I will be touring for the next couple of weeks and returning on Christmas Day.1 Blogging is likely to be even lighter than usual since (a) I don't know how often I'll have Internet access and (b) this is supposed to be a vacation.2

1We're hoping the flights will be empty, since we can't afford business class.
2After we leave Auckland.
