yos09-405x130.gifYear of Science 2009 is "a national year-long celebration of science to engage the public in science and improve public understanding about how science works, why it matters, and who scientists are." The University of Connecticut was the first university in the country to join the effort, and we have many exciting events planned: artistic performances, lecture series, art exhibits, and more. There's even a podcast where you can hear me talk a little about the history of Year of Science 2009 (click here to hear it).

If you live nearby, I encourage you to check the list of events we have scheduled and attend as many as you can. If you don't live nearby, search the national Year of Science database for events near you. Chances are that you'll find some nearby.

And if you're part of a corporation or foundation that would like to support the effort, click on the Support for link contact information. We would welcome your support.
