Empty oceans

Randy Olson, producer of Flock of Dodos and Sizzle, has a new short video out illustrating how much the oceans have changed in the last fifty years. The evidence from personal reflections on two raft trips is anecdotal, but it's completely consistent with data Jeremy Jackson published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences last month showing loss of 46-99% of biomass in fisheries around the world.

Andy Revkin provided the pointer to the video, and he promises an interview with Randy later today.
