International apostrophe day

5ukda.png#apostropheday - I nearly missed it. Last year it was on August 18th, and I didn't even know it existed. This year I happened to notice it just in time to get this post up while half of the day is left for celebration.

And in honor of today I'm linking to a site I just discovered: Apostrophe Abuse. There you'll find many examples of misplaced apostrophes. My favorite? Nacho's w/ cheese jalapeno's.

David Marsh, the mastermind behind International Apostrophe, is now conserving his energy for punctuation marks in even greater need of attention. Oxford comma, anyone?
