A young botanist at UConn

Nikisha Patel1 is one of about 30 undergraduate students who received the Young Botanist Award from the Botanical Society of America this year. Her research involves reproductive biology of a rare plant in the genus Solanum.

Next week Nikisha leaves with a group of us for fieldwork in South Africa associated with our Dimensions of Biodiversity project on Protea, Pelargonium, and plant community diversity in the Cape Floristic Region.
