1961988h4t3uj1kad.gifDotEarth, Andy Revkin's blog at the New York Times, is two years old today. If you aren't familiar with DotEarth, shame on you. You should be. If you are familiar with it, I'm sure you'll agree with me that it's an extraordinarily valuable resource.

Please join me in wishing Andy a happy second birthday! Read him regularly. It's worth your time.

And you might make Rush Limbaugh's head explode in the meantime. If you don't know what I'm talking about, read this entry from DotEarth in which Revkin responds to Limbaugh's suggestion that he, Revkin, commit suicide.

Here's the blurb about DotEarth from it's main page.

About Dot Earth

Andrew C. Revkin on Climate Change By 2050 or so, the world population is expected to reach nine billion, essentially adding two Chinas to the number of people alive today. Those billions will be seeking food, water and other resources on a planet where, scientists say, humans are already shaping climate and the web of life. In Dot Earth, reporter Andrew C. Revkin examines efforts to balance human affairs with the planet's limits. Conceived in part with support from a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship, Dot Earth tracks relevant news from suburbia to Siberia. The blog is an interactive exploration of trends and ideas with readers and experts. You can follow Mr. Revkin on Twitter and Facebook.

Hear! Hear! Two years of fantastic and insightful journalism blogging on climate and sustainability issues, bravo, and more to come.

But one thing, dear blogger here at UConn. Let's not play the same ugly game Rush plays and wish for his head to explode! That's the same sickness and ugliness that Rush plays by and you should have more class, sir. Please remove or edit that part to sound more humanistic. Something like [edit] "And you might take a moment to see how Rush Limbaugh attack Andy in a very ugly way {here LINK]."

Andy and other readers here, did you hear about a new book from New Zealand (one of the places on Earth where future Polar Cities will be citied in the southern hemisphere, year 2500 or so) titled TIME TO EAT THE DOG, and ... Read Moresubtitled something like "How to live in a sustainable world." Husband - wife team wrote it. Great title! it got both rave and neg reviews at Amazon. But worth a look, if for the title only. What on earth does that mean? TIME TO EAT THE DOG? Happy b-EARTH-day, Dot Earth!

Kent H, i put this on Andy Facebook page, too: by the way, Andy, that said, above, i made a comment on Kent H's blog at UCONN to this effect:..."one thing, Kent H., at UConn. Let's not play the same ugly game Rush plays and wish for Rush's head to explode! That's the same sickness and ugliness that Rush plays by and you should have more class, sir. Why not edit that part to sound more ... Read Morehumanistic. Something like [edit] "And you might take a moment to see how Rush Limbaugh attacked Andy in a very ugly way {here LINK]." Wishing for Rush's head to explode is just as juvenile as Rish telling Andy to visit another space-time continuum. Am I right or am I wrong? We need to rise above the pettiness of a Rush Limbaugh and be more civilized, no?

I guess, Professor, you think it's cool to wish for someone's head to explode, since you don't have the same politics or ideology as he does. And you are not going to edit your blog post about wishing for Rush's head to explode because you are stubborn and don't like to listen to strangers. But you are wrong, sir. Tit for tat is not the way to play this. But it's your blog post and if that's how you see the world, I apologzie for knocking politely on your door..... others at Andy's Facebook page have said the same thing I said. But it's your call, sir, and I will respect that. Sure.

Friends. Last comment was perfect, Kent, and will read the new morning post now. Friends forever now. DANNY
