Problem #3 posted

I've posted the description of Problem #3 and two (simulated) data files associated with it. Unlike the problems/projects so far the bonus question associated with this problem is very difficult. I'll be astonished (and very impressed) if anyone is able to solve it without help, but I'll be providing hints over the next week or so for anyone who's interested.
One hint to start is that you're either going to have to figure out a way to program a resampling scheme from scratch or you're going to have to write some WinBUGS code. I'll be providing hints for WinBUGS, but if you would prefer to try a resampling approach, be my guest. I'll do what I can to help. (I know how I'd solve the question with a resampling approach, but I don't know what language you'll be using, and I can't offer any hints until I know.)
