I mentioned Shahid Naeem and the idea of “biodiversity accounting” in lecture this morning. I wasn't able to put my hands on any published papers in which he discusses the idea, but then it dawned on me that he spoke about it at the 2006 annual meeting of the American Institute of Biological Sciences.
