The goal of this course is to help you learn to write well. Because it is a science course, you will learn some things that apply principally to scientific writing, but what you learn will help you write better about any topic.
There are two requirements for this course: a short paper analyzing two assigned readings (see the section called Short paper assignment) and a 12-15 page term paper on a subject of your choice in evolutionary biology (see the section called Term paper assignment). Each of you will be assigned to work with one of the W instructors. If you forget which of us you were assigned to, ask either of us and we will remind you.
