REAL Team 2000

A special internship opportunity for University of Connecticut students

You are invited to apply for a position as a member of the REAL Team, a group of students with training and expertise in the ecology and conservation of Connecticut’s diverse landscapes. This program, co-sponsored by the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and The Nature Conservancy, will train participants in techniques for assessing the conservation significance of land parcels in Connecticut.

As a member of the REAL Team you will:

• Perform rapid ecological assessments of land throughout Connecticut during June–August 2000,
• Produce profiles of the ecology, land-use, and biodiversity of these landscapes, and
• Provide critical information that will be used directly in making conservation decisions in the state.
