The Connecticut Biodiversity Project is a group of professional scientists, conservationists, and members of the academic community concerned about the long-term future of biological diversity in the state of Connecticut. It will offer advice to private or governmental agencies seeking such advice, act as clearinghouse for information on biodiversity in the state, organize working groups to discuss specific conservation issues on scales ranging from species to landscapes, suggest research needs and priorities, help to coordinate conservation efforts of many different organizations in the state, and provide conservation management recommendations to groups or individuals seeking its advice. It will not take a position on state or Federal legislation, nor will it offer an opinion on administrative decisions.
You are the visitor to have found this little corner of the Web since Tuesday, 4 June 1996.
The project includes members of the following organizations:
This group will meet quarterly on the third Thursday of January, April, July, and October, from 2:00 to 5:00pm at a location to be announced.
Focus groups will provide 10 minute updates to the larger group at quarterly meetings. Issues of concern may be placed on the agenda up to one week prior to quarterly meetings.
